I constantly get compliments from players and engineers from all over on that "sound"! Now I have it on my iPad.

I felt so strongly about it that I purchased a Mac Mini just for it for live gigs and studio sessions. I play for a living and never thought I would love a piano sample so much that I would want to play any style on it (classical included). Central time June 26 2017, my life got better because finally the Ravenscroft 275 Piano was released for IOS. Jtaccordion's Review of Ravenscroft 275 Piano Reviewed on 12/2/18 12:57 PMĪt 11:58 a.m. Thanks for bringing us a truly playable app! Nothing, other than using my new favorite tool for live piano work. Even the singer was inspired, sang better than ever, and asked me what I was doing differently. I felt like I was just playing music, and the nagging irritation of using samples practically went away. But something about this Ravenscroft app was different. Of course, samples still, after all these years, don't match the experience of playing a great grand piano. The connection to the piano feel and sound was the closest yet to playing a real piano. I used a Kurzweil PC2x as a controller, and I couldn't believe it. We did classical, popera, jazz, pop, even Bohemian Rhapsody at a winery gig. Bought it then hit before, and used it in a duo gig with a singer. I used Ravenscroft 275 for the first time two nights ago. I've been trying to find something for my iPad for years that delivers a real piano playing experience, or as close to it as possible. I know longer use this app when I gig just so my audience doesn’t get annoyed with the loud damper sound.įix this massive problem and I’ll gladly change my review to a 5 Star review which is what this app really deserves once this issue is fixed.Ĭlosest yet for iOS star star star star starĭonGarberg's Review of Ravenscroft 275 Piano Reviewed on 12/2/18 12:57 PM My sound engineer hates this app because the damper pedal is so loud and there is nothing he can do about it. I simply use the Korg Module Piano sounds even though I would rather use this app. I basically wasted $35 on a app that I don’t use. I am now changing my review to a 1 Star review because this issue is still not being addressed even though other reviewers are also saying the same thing about the loud damper pedal sound. It is very loud and really sounds bad when you’re playing softly in a concert room. I wrote a nice 3 star review on this app a couple months ago and I stated that the major downside to this app is the extremely loud damper pedal sound that it makes when it is pressed down. Otherwise the app is very usable and much better than most, especially for the money.ĭon’t waste you’re time with this app star star star star_border star_borderĬhrinist's Review of Ravenscroft 275 Piano Reviewed on 3/31/18 5:21 PM Perhaps Ravenscroft can do something about this or let me know if I am missing something here. Acoustic pianos have continuous variable damper pedal control, but when using this app it does not send that function to the sustain pedal so it’s just basically on and off with a little bit of re-pedaling which can make the sound a bit choppy when using a sustain pedal. I like the expressiveness and control of the half-damper pedal which most lower and higher priced digital pianos now have internally. But as far as I can tell it’s missing half-damper pedal control when connected to a digital piano, and for me that’s a big issue. Beautiful, resonate sound with long damper pedal decay time and It has enough features to do most of the editing that I want.

For an inexpensive acoustic piano app, this is certainly one of the best I’ve used on a digital piano or midi controller digital piano.

I’ve also played hundreds of professional acoustic grand pianos.
